DSC, CHN analyzer indefinitely out of service due to water damage

The theme song for today is an old classic; play this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZUE4_PtOk0 in the background while you read the rest of this post.

A water leak on an upper floor caused a rainstorm on the floors below, including in the Shared Instrument Lab. The DSC and the CHN analyzer were impacted – quite literally – and were quite wet. They will be the subject of an insurance claim and are out of service indefinitely. Room 140 is in a bit of a state while it dries out – fans and dehumidifier are helping.

Today at least, DSC stands for “Damp Science Casualty”. (Email your suggestions for other “backronymns”.) The bucket and 2×4 were part of the remedy, not the disaster itself, but the ceiling tile dropping in was definitely inspired by water from above.
