Unrestrained water, ever the bane of instrumental analysts, has put in yet another appearance in Schrenk Hall. This week’s episode* involves a leak in a deionized water line under a sink on the 3rd floor, an overnight leak which turned into a full-blown mess spanning four floors. As a consequence of the damage and ongoing mitigation/remediation efforts (and the safety shower being blocked), room 140 will be closed until further notice. Existing reservations for instruments in room 140 will be canceled, and new reservation requests will not be honored while the room is closed. Please adjust your plans accordingly.
(* To be fair, it has been more than a week; the last water incident was in November of 2024. Still, the track record for Schrenk West has been pretty bad since the renovation, and the disasters remain in memory longer than the unremarkable days.)
